The boys basketball team had a tough week of games, losing to Marysville last Monday, and then falling to Wapakoneta and Benjamin Logan over the weekend. The boys basketball team will close out their tough two week stretch of games on Wednesday (12/23/15) night when they host Jefferson High School (Delphos). The JV game will tip off at 6pm followed by the varsity game.
The Boys Swim team defeated Ben Logan & Bellefontaine on Monday. The girls team beat Ben Logan, but fell just shy of Bellefontaine. The boys scored 91 points, while Bellefontaine scored 80 and Ben Logan scored 22. On the girls side, Bellefontaine scored 99, the Wildcats 83 and the Raiders scored 19. On Wednesday, Dec. 16, the Lady Wildcats took first place at the Mr. Gilead Invitational (7 teams). The boys placed 2nd out of 6 teams. Sr. Ashton Cole broke the school record in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:05:60, breaking the record of current KHS swimmer, Mo Gray. On Saturday the Kenton Swimmers traveled to the Mt. Vernon Invitation at Kenyon College. The swimmers are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 22 when they host Bath and St. Marys at 6pm.
The Kenton girls bowling team was again victorious over O-G on Monday by a score of 1800 to 1794.. The girls are now 3-1. The boys team lost to O-G in a close match, and now stands at 0-3. On Thursday, the bowlers traveled to Defiance for a hard fought match with the Bulldogs. The Kenton bowlers came up short against Defiance. Their next match is Jan. 5th when they host Wapakoneta at 5:30 at Hillcrest Lanes.
On Thursday, the girls basketball team defeated Wapakoneta in thrilling fashion, 46-43. The girls team then played host to Riverdale on Saturday, losing a tough one to the Falcons. The girls are now 5-4 on the season. Their next game is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 28th at Indian Lake. This will be a varsity only game, beginning at 7pm.
The Kenton wrestling team lost two tough matches on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Defiance. The wrestlers lost to Defiance and to Elida. The wrestlers are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Tiffin Columbian Holiday Tournament.
