Kenton Youth Wrestling

Kenton Youth Wrestling Team had 8 kids finish 1st place and 9 kids place 2nd at the MVKWA wrestling meet at Bluffton this past Sunday.
Wrestlers competed against teams from Ada, Allen East, Bluffton, Cory Rawson, Delphos, Elida, Lima City, Lima Bath, Lima Shawnee and Ottawa Glandorf.
Anthony Hunt, Kole Anspach, Kade Smith, Gavin Sealscott, Tristen Hale, Isaiah Mundy, Alexander Fields and Austin Root all finished undefeated with a record of 3-0. Hunt, Anspach and Smith also recorded 3 pins. Hale recorded 2 pins and Mundy posted one pin.
2nd place finishers were Mason Cook (2-1, 2 Pins), Evan Elliott (2-1, 2 Pins), Kyle Ball (2-1, 1 Pin & 1 Tech Fall), Tim Wilkinson (2-1, 1 Pin), Sam Taylor (2-1, 1 Pin),  Collin Dawson (2-1, 1 Pin), Karson Davis (2-1, 1 Pin), Jayden Mustain (2-1, 1 Tech Fall) and Sebastian Pascual (2-1, 1 Tech Fall).
As a team, Kenton posted  record of 50-53. They had a total of 27 Pins, 3 Tech Falls, 102 Takedowns, 40 Near Fall points, 25 Reversals and 36 Escapes.
Brison Laubis, Bill Wilkinson, Dylan Searson, Landon Mohn, Landen Elliott, Ronald Boyer and Aaron Modd all placed 3rd.
Alex Fields had a team high of 8 takedowns for the meet.
The Kenton youth team next meet will be at Northwestern in Springfield, OH on January 15th, 2017.
