Kenton Youth Wrestling Team had 6 kids finish 1st place and 5 kids place 2nd at the MVKWA wrestling meet at Northwestern in Springfield this past Sunday.
Kade Smith lead the wildcats with a 3-0 record and 3 Pins. Smith placed 1st in the 10 year old 63-65 lb group.
Other first place finishers were Landen Elliott (12 yr. -85 lb, 3-0, 2 Pins), Isaiah Mundy (6 yr. old – 60 lb, 3-0, 1 Pin), Alannah Jackson (7 yr. old – 61 lb, 3-0, 1 Pin), Gavin Sealscott (5 yr. old – 49 lb, 3-0, 1 Pin) and Karson Davis (10 yr. old – 75 lb, 3-0, 1 Pin)
2nd place finishers with 2-1 record for the day were Landon Mohn (2 Pins), Collin Dawson (2 Pins), Ronald Boyer (2 Pins), Harris Kuykendall (1 Pin) and Kyle Ball.
As a team, Kenton posted record of 43-50. They had a total of 19 Pins, 2 Tech Falls, 113 Takedowns, 41 Near Fall points, 25 Reversals and 48 Escapes.
Isaiah Mundy had a team high of 10 takedowns for the meet.
The Kenton youth team next meet will be at Lima Shawnee on January 22th, 2017.
