Noah Thibaut and Carter Bays placed at the 3rd Annual Mechanicsburg MS Invitational Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2017.
Thibaut went 3-0 to place 1st in the 172 lb weight class. Thibaut won all of his matches by fall. In the first round, he defeated Dominic Roose of Benjamin Logan 4:16. Elijah Slagle then fell to Thibaut in the quarter finals at :48. Thibaut finished the tournament by defeating Caden Colman of Mechanicsburg in the finals by fall at :44.
Bays placed 3rd at the invitational. Bays defeated Hunter Sparks of Clarke Shawnee in his first match to advance to the quarter finals, but fell to eventual champion Lane Mefford of Indian Lake. Bays then won over Gage Huston of Blanchester to advance to consolation finals. Bays finished 3rd with a Major Decision over Adam Meyers of Greenon 14-2.
The team placed 17th with 54 points out of 25 teams. Buckeye won the meet with 260.5 points. Jacob Taylor (142 lbs), Lucast Hites (116 lb) also posted wins at the tournament.
Kenton travels to a tri-meet at Ben Logan on Wednesday, Jan. 25th.
