Youth Wrestling Results

Anthony Hunt placed 2nd at Ohio Athletic Committee (OAC) Troy District Qualifier Tournament at Troy Christian High School this past weekend.  After a bye in the first round, Hunt, wrestling in the Division III – 80 lb weight class, defeated Thomas Csanyi of Medina, Ohio in a 4-0 decision.  He proceeded to beat Kellan Drain of Millbury by Fall at :48 in the semi-finals, but lost by a Tech Fall 1-13 in the finals to Nehemiah Sanderfer of Columbia Station, Ohio.  Hunt will be representing the Kenton Youth Wrestling team at the 2017 Grade School State Championships in Youngstown, Ohio at the Covelli Centre on March 25th & 26th.

Isaiah Mundy, Division II – 61 lb weight class, placed 6th at the Troy District Qualifier and earned an alternate spot for the State Championships.  Mundy posted a 3-3 record with 2 Pins and a Major Decision for the day defeating Daniel McCormick, Devan Vance of Tipp City, and Drew LaPoint of Swanton.
